Oh my goddess, I finally did it! After hemming (and a lot of hawing), I finally produced my very first travel video!!! Woohoo!! Clap clap clap. And I would like to thank my patient and creative video editor Kim (plus technical advice from the lovely Sandy Sidhu ) for making this possible.

So here it is. My first travel video: The Gypsygals at the Great Wall of China.

The Great Wall of China, also known as Chángchéng,  is this really loooooooong wall that treads through several provinces in Northern China – Liaoning province, Hebei, Inner mongolia etc. The Great Wall was built over 2,000 years ago with several walls built at various times under different dynasties

The first wall was constructed during the Qin Dynasty, about 221 BC, and was used as a first line of defense against the invading Huns. The most popular Great Wall site is the Badaling which means “Eight Prominent Peaks.” It can be found in Beijing, about an hour's drive from Tiananmen square – the city center.

This was where my sister and I went as we didn't have a lot of time traveling in China. And unlike some more adventurous travelers, we're not that interested with camping (blehhhh). We are true blue city girls and we don't like roughing it out.

We took the cable to get there and later climbed the hundred steps. Of course , it can be quite tiring but worth it. This is a Unesco World Heritage Site after all. And going to the Great Wall is a way to learn more about Chinese history.

Is this your first time to travel to Beijing?  Beijing is a difficult city to navigate and an organized city tour can help you in save time and still enjoy your travels in China. I highly recommend booking a trip with my favorite travel tour group Urban Adventures – as a more organized city tour is a way for me to save time and money. Less stressful too.
