What makes a good travel blog? Nice photos? Traveling to exotic places? Blogging every day? Hanging out in Facebook to persuade more people to join your fan page?
Each travel blogger may have a different answer. But as far as this Gypsygal is concerned, strong writing trumps everything else – because being a good blogger is having the ability to find one's writing voice. Your writing voice defines your blog and finds you your "right" audience (the so-called "true fans").
In my first guest post at Men With Pens – I talked about how hiring my writing coach is helping me build my business (on the side). But more than being a business coach, my writing coach helped me discover my writing (and blogging) voice.
So here it is, my guest post at Men with Pens: Why hiring a writing coach can help you build your business.
Enjoy!
Have a great weekend everyone.
(Note: Thank you Rossana, James and Ali for making this guest post possible)
Ah, too true. A lot of bloggers seem to forget that blogging IS writing. Unfortunately, it’s so much easier to be distracted by the Internet.
or for that matter, thinking that this is about the race for FB fans or Adsense dollars. I hope that this post will help -even in its small way – to elevate the craft of writing.
100% agree. Modesty aside, I created my travel blog to give vent to my writing passion developed through the years choosing in the process island vacations as the niche as it is closer to my heart.
Oo nga eh, sana makatulong tayo kahit konti to raise the quality of content in the internet. A lot of them are really crappy or puro SEO lang.
I agree, writing first. I don’t mind bloggers who post photos of trips in their blog entries (I do that as well) but I appreciate it more if the blogger can make me visualize the place as well as his/her experience because of how well the writing is. It’s also nice to communicate with other travel bloggers to help you find your voice and also to inspire you to keep on writing. 😀
Hay ang dami na kasing basurang content sa internet (travel blogs and otherwise). And I want to do my part naman, kahit maliit lang, to raise quality by nurturing my writing and my travel blogging.
Agree. Because of this I’m now thinking of hiring a writing coach. hehehe. 🙂
Hi Dylan, if you’re serious about it, I’m offering my writing coach services. 🙂
