Most people won’t equate traveling to Kuala Lumpur as a spiritual journey.
The Malaysian capital is not exactly famous for its temples or spiritual retreats. Like most cities in ASEAN, one usually go to KL to shop and eat and perhaps after you’re done with the eating and shopping, you use all that extra energy (and leftover cash) to explore other places outside of the metropolis . It’s definitely not for those undergoing a spiritual journey.
And yet what exactly what I did when I went to KL a few months ago to attend a workshop on energy healing and divination. Not that this was my first time to go to KL precisely for that purpose. My horrible experience in Vietnam nearly two years ago has pushed me to seek solace and wisdom from teachers and healers in KL. The healing that I received and the many blessings that I got afterwards has encouraged me to reconnect to a former teacher and went on to attend more workshops in KL– moving towards a more Goddess-based spiritual path.
The workshop was not held in a temple. Let me qualify that – it wasn’t held in a traditional place of worship where a religious leader gives a sermon to believers. But in many ways I believe I went to a temple – if we define temple as a place for spiritual learning and healing. And my temple is one of those holistic healing centers based in a shop house at one of KL’s commercial areas. The center is filled with crystals and incense and books on healing and angels. And like most temples, there are teachers who help us learn more about healing and divination. There’s an altar, and in its place are the images of Egyptian Divinities – not for worship but as a mode to receive the energy that they impart on those who choose to manifest with them.
My spiritual journey has finally brought me this realization – that there’s only ONE Source, one Higher Power that guides as all, but that source is manifested in various ways. Which brings me back to KL and how I spent one weekend learning about Isis Lotus Healing. There were a lot of meditations, a lot of smelling of high vibrational essential oils to aid in our meditation, a lot of listening to music, a lot of sharing about our meditation journeys.
I also did a one-on-one karmic release session with my teacher. I cried a lot and it took a while before I enjoyed the benefits. But it was all worth it. I don’t want to discuss details as I had a very personal reason for seeking that healing. Suffice it to say that, after a few months, a hugeee emotional baggage disappeared and in many ways, set me free.
What was affirmed in that journey is the power of energy healing and how it can help in resolving deep seated issues and problems. And if this is something that you are struggling with, and if my journey resonates with you, then you can always get in touch with me as I can help you overcome these personal challenges and move forward.
